Adam Hurst
Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapist
I am a UKCP registered child, adolescent and adult psychotherapist who works with people of all ages. The aim of psychotherapy is to overcome the obstacles that prevent people from being able to thrive and reach their full potential.
As a child psychotherapist I am trained to think about what may be going on for a child and how adverse circumstances may have impacted on them. This can really offer a lifeline to children who feel misunderstood, and can help families to understand what may be going on for them too. Emotional difficulties can manifest in very challenging behaviours and some help to unpick these behaviours can really turn things around for everybody.
I have been working in private practice with children and adults since 2017, and before that spent five years as an in-house psychotherapist at a residential EBD (emotional, behavioural difficulties) school for boys, many of whom had experienced extreme levels of trauma. As well as my private practice I also work for several schools and nurseries in the Cambridge area.
