8AKP is able to provide low cost therapy with either Trainee Therapists who are studying to become Psychotherapeutic Counsellors, or with Associate Therapists who have gained their qualification and are then building up their client contact hours to become fully accredited UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) Psychotherapeutic Counsellors.

Therapy with a Trainee or Associate

In addition to clinical supervision overseen by their college of study, trainee and associate client work is overseen by Lucy Fuller, the 8AKP Founder and Practice Manager, and is regularly reviewed.

To work with a trainee or associate, you will first be invited to an assessment session with one of our experienced psychotherapists, where you will be asked some questions about yourself and what you would like to gain from seeing a therapist. We will also explain how we can help you. This initial session is also to make sure it is appropriate for you to work with one of our trainees or associates. After your assessment session, you will be assigned a therapist and you will be able to start your weekly sessions straight away.

Fees

The fee for your initial assessment session is £80.

Weekly sessions are then charged at £50 per session to work with a trainee and £65 per session to work with an associate. All sessions are for 50 minutes.
