Associate Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

We all experience difficulties from time to time and it can be helpful to explore these alongside the gentle presence of a psychotherapeutic counsellor. I work with children and adolescents using an integrative arts approach. This means that I facilitate the use of art materials, sand tray and other creative approaches in my therapy room where this is appropriate. Some people can find the arts a useful way to explore how they are feeling.

I believe that whatever approach a therapist uses, building a trusting relationship between client and therapist is the most important aspect of effective therapy. I always aim to provide a warm and safe environment for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, without judgement.

I work together with my clients to get a good understanding of what it is they would like to gain from weekly therapy, and I aim to help manage expectations along the way. When I first meet with a client, I tend to ask if they would like to share what has brought them to therapy, and aim to get to know a bit more about the relationships in their life.

Wherever you are on your journey, I look forward to the chance of meeting you.
