Louise Foster
Special Yoga Senior Practitioner
Lou is a Yoga Therapist and Teacher for children and teenagers, and has a background in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. She is a Senior Practitioner for Special Yoga.
Therapeutic yoga adapts classical yoga practices; movement, breathing exercises and deep relaxation combined with sound, rhythm, massage and sensory integration techniques. The practices help regulate and support the body’s energetic and nervous systems providing great benefits especially designed for children and teens with special and additional needs, such as Autism, ADHD and Down’s Syndrome.
Yoga delivered therapeutically is also recommended for children and teens experiencing Anxiety, Depression and Behavioural or Emotional needs, providing them with essential tools to self-soothe, to feel connected to their body, and feel safe and supported.
Each Yoga Therapy session is unique and it is my intention to meet the child exactly as they are, working intuitively from a space of the heart to support and nurture your child. Taking the child out of stress and into a relaxed state helps bring balance and peace to the body. This is also where space for transformation and potential can occur.
Sessions can be 1-2-1 or include parent and child. A session is booked by the hour but may need to be slightly shorter depending on the individual needs and ability to stay engaged.
