Nina Brauner

Clinical Psychologist

Clinical Psychologists work to improve mental wellbeing and reduce psychological distress. Our approach is tailored towards each individual and is based on working collaboratively. We initially develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and what keeps these going and then build on this to intervene and make changes that are in line with the person’s values.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I specialise in working with adults. I offer sessions on Friday mornings and I accept self-referrals and referrals from health professionals. I am not currently registered with private health insurance providers.

There is no need to have a mental health diagnosis to access therapy. The type of problems I can offer support with include:

Trauma, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Anxiety, about a wide variety of issues including social situations or health

Low mood and depression

Stress

Overwhelming emotions

Low self-esteem or low self-confidence

Adjustment to life changes or major transitions

Problems with assertiveness, boundaries and people pleasing

I am particularly interested in the impact of trauma and the role of power and community in mental wellbeing and distress. Therapeutically, I draw on a variety of models, depending on what brings you to therapy and what your goals are. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, and Parts Work. I also draw on Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
