Associate Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, having gained my Diploma from Cambridge University.

This means that I can draw upon different psychotherapeutic theories, skills and experiences and use them when working with my clients.  Providing a safe, containing and empathetic space in order for clients to be able to have the confidence to express thoughts and feelings is at the heart of my work.

For my clients, opportunity for use of the creative arts within the therapeutic space is a way of providing the means to communicate something that may be going on for them that might be difficult to name or express in words alone.

The relationship is key for a client to experience the benefits of counselling. I am there alongside you while you explore and reflect upon thoughts and feelings, in the here and now without judgement.

Before I became a trainee psychotherapeutic counsellor, I was a teacher working in the primary education sector for twenty years in London and Cambridgeshire.  I have worked in mainstream and specialist teaching settings in a variety of roles.

All these experiences made me understand the importance for children and adolescents to access counselling and therapies.  Being able to have a set time and space, outside of the classroom and home, just for you to focus on yourself can be empowering and restorative.

I am a trainee member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and I adhere to the UKCP Codes of Ethics and Professional Practice and have had extensive safeguarding training.
