Vanessa Shearing
Clinical Psychologist
Clinical Psychologists are trained to work with people experiencing psychological distress and difficulty, through developing a shared understanding of the development and maintenance of the problem, and then working together to intervene and make changes that enable people to manage symptoms more effectively and enhance their psychological wellbeing.
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Professional’s Council and British Psychological Society offering private psychological assessment and therapy to adults in Cambridge. I accept self-referrals, as well as referrals from health professionals, health insurance companies and other agencies.
My service may be right for you if you are;
· struggling to manage stress, anxiety or panic about any aspect of your life
· experiencing depression or low mood
· finding it hard to cope or adjust to changes in your health or after a traumatic experience,
· having difficulty managing medical treatment or making health related decisions
I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches as a clinical psychologist, and have undertaken additional training to enhance my practice. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as relational, solution-focussed and self-compassion based approaches.
Please visit my website for more information, and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss whether my service is right for you.
